We want to expand the reach of our organization by growing its participant base so we can
assist more cancer patients. Our charter clearly states in our objectives "to promote a
program of Cancer Welfare." Please help us assist more indigent cancer patients each month.
These patients need our help so desperately, let's do our best to make their lives a little better.

History

When we organized the Woman's Cancer Association in 1959, it was decided that all funds be designated for cancer control, cancer welfare and cancer prevention education The founders recall one woman patient requesting help after extensive corrective surgery making it impossible for her to return to work. A plastic surgeon donated his services, but she needed $900.00 for related expenses. Madelon Ravlin hosted a tea at her home to raise the funds needed. Molly Bush donated a linen cloth and napkins for a raffle. Molly also requested that the ladies each bring a silver dollar to place in a sterling silver bowl. This was the beginning of the Silver Lady Tea in 1963. Since then we have come a long way. This is a facet of our organization we would like to see enhanced so we can assist more cancer patients. Our charter clearly states in our objectives "to promote a program of Cancer Welfare." Please help us assist more indigent cancer patients each month. These patients need our help so desperately, let's do our best to make their lives a little better.
